Gold Jewellery Gets Trendier

Posted in

Accessories especially trendy jewellery is becoming a rage among the fashion savvy. The recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week saw many designers using subtle accessories, gold jewellery in Pristino designs and more on the ramp. It seems that the jewellery is reviving in its purest form this season with some twists and turns to it.
Jewellery designer Pallavi Foley did present her creativity at the fashion extravaganza that caught the eyes of everyone present. Having showcased some of the best designs she had gathered a good crowd at the fashion exhibition.
Her jewellery speaks of modern and contemporary touch to it and yet was a favorite among the fashion divas. Having inspired from the modern conceptual architecture Pallavi's Pristino collection was another trendy concept that the designer had showcased. "I think design is an understanding that cannot be unlearnt, only our design sensibilities keep evolving with our experiences. To me fashion is a way of thinking, which most commonly and explicitly gets addressed and expressed through our dressing," feels the designer.
The collection is a simplification of form and creation of ornament from the structure and theme of the urban conceptual buildings. It has a completely new take on the way fine jewellery is designed and perceived - modern and revolutionary. As the name suggests, "Pristino" is all about lines, which move along the jewellery pieces.
Having designed the collection in 18k yellow gold with diamond the collection can also be seen in silver line too. The collection creates visual emphasis on the way lines interact to create form. The overlap and variation in level makes the product unique. The look is modern and revolutionary suited for the modern women of today.
Talking about the trend in jewellery she suggests, "Gold as a colour is big on the fashion scene. Especially in accessories, gold is the colour of the year." There are diamonds at different levels and sometimes even underneath, however that only makes the viewer want to appreciate the contours a lot more.
Having graduated in accessory designing from NIFT Pallavi have got hands-on experience of designing jewellery for Tanishq and through her nine and half year stint with them she also designed many collections for Miss India Universe Crowns in 2006-2007.
Ask her about the latest trends in jewellery design and pat comes the reply, "Long chains, layered long chains, long bead chains and knotted chains are again a huge trend. Large cocktail rings will also be seen in the fashion markets."
