Kate Moss' Fairytale Wedding

Posted in

Kate Moss wed longtime beau Jamie Hince at St. Peter's Church in England on 1st July, 2011. While the wedding recreates a fairytale world with everything around being nearly perfect, what has still kept the talks going is the fact that Kate Moss chose none other than the tainted designer John Galliano to design her wedding dress.

John Galliano, whose career was jeopardized after an alleged anti-semetic outburst at a Parisian café earlier this year has called designing the super model’s wedding dress as a “creative rehab”. In an interview with Vogue U.S the designer shares his experience of collaborating with good friend Kate Moss, a move that has rejuvenated his creativity. He claims that he could not lift his pencil again, until Kate dared him to be Galliano again.

he designer describes the gown as being inspired by the Jazz Age photographs of novelist Zelda Fitzgerald and Gypsies. In memory of his partner Steve Robinson, whose death played a significant role in Galliano resorting to alcohol and anti-epressants, he has included a beautiful rosary. The dress is in lace and chiffon and reminiscent of the 30’s. Kate Moss paired the gown with a veil and Manolo Blahnik heels.
The elaborate three day affair saw guests like Carine Roitfeld, Daphne Guinness, Terry Richardson, Stella McCartney, Naomi Campbell, James Brown, Bobby Gillespie, etc.
